This introductory psychology module provides freshmen with a broad overview of the various fields in psychology.
The module is divided into 5 subsections and co-lectured by 4 different lecturers. The first topic on biological psychology studies the human brain and the nervous system, and how they connect our thoughts and actions on a biological basis. The next topic cognitive psychology focus on the human mind and how humans perceive information through our senses. The third topic covers developmental psychology, which studies the development of reflexes, motor skills, languages and intelligence in the early years. Social psychology deals with development of identity and interactions with the social environment while the last topic on abnormal psychology deals with mental illnesses.
Be warned that this module is extremely content heavy, and the exams are indeed a test of memory.
